Deutsch, led by Brian and Michelle Rand along with Philip and Nissa Kraling, purchased the retail complex at 4530 Maine Ave. S, which previously housed Schneiderman's Furniture from 2014 to 2019 and Best Buy from 2008 to 2012. It is next to Lowe's Home Improvement store. The deal closed on May 5. The plan is to move Deutsch Furniture from its nearby 12,000-square-foot showroom at 4825 Commercial Drive SW to the 4530 Maine Ave. building, hopefully by late summer. The Commercial Drive building is available for purchase or lease, after the move. "We needed this. We really need the room, so it was a necessary move," said Brian Rand. "We're expanding our upholstery lines, and upholstery takes up so much more space coupled with our Amish furniture lines. That building just happened to be an ideal fit for us."
