patients across ~40 U.S./European sites with co-primary endpoints of complete debridement and facilitation of wound closure , and an interim analysis after ~65% enrollment could inform sample-size adjustments or a BLA path if positive. NexoBrid is FDA/EMA-approved and sold in 40+ countries, and MediWound has expanded manufacturing with regulatory inspections and approvals targeted around mid-2026 to remove supply constraints; the U.S. government has provided about $140 million in non-dilutive funding and a BARDA agreement (expected Q1 2026, to be with Vericel ) is planned to cover stockpiling, a room-temperature stable formulation, and blast-injury development. MediWound reported $54 million cash, no debt and a prior quarter raise of $30 million , says government collaboration materially supports operations, and expects NexoBrid revenue growth in 2026–2028 with potential initial EscharEx revenue as early as and peak sales estimated at ~ $831 million if Phase III is successful.
