Meta Platforms ( NASDAQ:META ) is stepping further into fossil-fuel-backed infrastructure as it scales what could become its most power-intensive artificial intelligence project, underscoring how aggressive the AI buildout has become. The company has reached an agreement with Entergy ( NYSE:ETR ) to fund seven additional natural gas plants tied to its Hyperion data center in rural Louisiana, according to the utility. This expands on three previously approved facilities, bringing the total to ten plants expected to deliver more than 7 gigawatts of electricity, positioning Hyperion as Meta's largest data center initiative.
