models signed a pledge promising to pay more for electricity in a bid by the Trump administration to tamp down on the price increases that have ballooned energy bills and angered American voters ahead of the November midterm elections. The data centers – which consume large swaths of land as well as supplies of electricity and water – are straining the electricity grid and driving up utility bills for homes and small businesses, just as the White House is working to bring down the cost of living.
