Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index slipped 1.3% to 53,746.50. Technology-related stocks saw some of the bigger losses, with SoftBank Group falling 4.7%. South Korea's Kospi fell 1.8% to 5,481.09. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.8% to 25,523.60, while the Shanghai Composite index was down 0.6% at 4,105.40. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 edged 0.1% lower to 8,617.10. Taiwan's Taiex was trading 0.5% lower, and India's Sensex dropped 0.9%. U.S. futures gained. The future for the S&P 500 rose 0.2%, while that for the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.3%. Oil prices held steady. Brent crude, the international standard, hovered near $100 per barrel Friday. It topped $100 Thursday, days after jumping to near $120 earlier this week. Benchmark U.S. crude fell 0.7% to $95.02 per barrel.
