NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Monocle Acquisition Corporation (the "Company") today announced that it closed its initial public offering of 17,250,000 units, which included 2,250,000 units issued pursuant to the full exercise by the underwriters of their over-allotment option. The offering was priced at $10.00 per unit, resulting in gross proceeds of $172,500,000, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other offering expense payable by the Company. Of the proceeds received from the consummation of the initial public offering and a simultaneous private placement of units to the Company's sponsors, Monocle Partners, LLC and Cowen Investments II LLC, $174,225,000 was placed in trust.The Company's units began trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market ("Nasdaq") under the ticker symbol "MNCLU" on February 7, 2019.
