Summary MannKind ( MNKD ) had some good news when the company announced its phase 1 completion of a possible drug candidate for PAH. In essence, MannKind is seeking to deliver an existing PAH treatment drug, Treprostonil, via a dry powder inhalation using its Technosphere and Dreamboat platform and device. I had long characterized MannKind's Trep-T program as a great choice for a number of reasons: Treprostonil is already delivered to patients through inhalation, thus, the required testing would be simplified. Knowing that treprostinil already has success via inhalation means that the odds for MannKind's success in a trial are very good. This clinical trial gives the company two products that have had success in getting through trials, thus helping to validate the Technosphere platform.
