AI server demand is expected to grow by more than 40% this year, said Oppenheimer analyst Rick Schafer and others in a note. "Demand for NVDA H100/H200 remains ahead of supply, likely into year-end," Schafer notes. "Next-gen Blackwell launches 3Q with B100 server ramp beginning 4Q." Other top picks in this space to outperform include Monolithic Power Systems ( MPWR ), Marvell Technology ( MRVL ) and Broadcom ( AVGO ), according to Oppenheimer. While AI server demand on the continent continues to surge, demand for PCs, smartphones, comms and auto/industrial markets appear relatively flat in 2024, Schafer finds. Smartphone units are only expected to grow 2% to 3% this year. Apple's ( AAPL ) iPhone sales are expected to be flat this year in Asia, despite a decline in China, which has historically accounted for about 20% of iPhone demand.
