NVIDIA Gives Arm a Boost In AI And HPC Nvidia Tesla GPU NVIDIA At the International Supercomputing Conference in Frankfurt, Germany, NVIDIA announced that it is porting its entire artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) tools and resources to the Arm CPU architecture. The Arm architecture has been making inroads into data center applications through chip vendors like Cavium (now a division of Marvell) and HiSilicon (a subsidiary of Huawei) , and other custom chips like the Graviton processor developed by Amazon and the Fujitsu processor used in the Post-K system at the Riken Center for Computational s (R-CCS). This announcement, however, puts Arm at the forefront of some of the highest performance applications by leveraging the industry-leading resources for Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) acceleration. The announcement also helps chip newcomers like Ampere and system vendors like Cray and HP Enterprise (HPE) looking to differentiate using the Arm architecture
