Whenever we hear about new consoles, increased horsepower is always the thing I’m least interested in. Don’t get me wrong: the second someone waves a flashy trailer in my face I tend to go ahead and get hyped anyways, but the quest for photorealistic graphics has never really grabbed me. And so, while it’s fun to hear about teraflops when Microsoft shows off some new specs, it’s the rest of the stuff I’m more curious about. And there were a few of those features in Microsoft’s Xbox Series X blog post yesterday. 1) Multiple Suspend States: Adding multiple games to the suspend state is both the next logical evolution and a major leap forward. There are a ton of games that I play for different reasons, and I’d love to be able to swap between my various games without long load times. There are limitations here, mostly that any online game will still need to re-connect. But as far as console-level improvements go, this is a great way to expand what I can ask my machine to do. 2) Smart Deli
