The World Health Organization (WHO) responded to President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. funding over his claims that the organization has mismanaged the COVID-19 pandemic. "WHO is reviewing the impact on our work of any withdrawal of U.S. funding and will work with our partners to fill any financial gaps we face and to ensure our work continues uninterrupted," WHO said Wednesday during a news conference. "Our mission and mandate are to work with all nations equally, without regard to the size of their populations or economies," Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO's director-general, said. They declined to provide additional details at this time. A number of world and business leaders have criticized Trump's decision. Bill Gates, the billionaire co-founder of Microsoft Corp. , tweeted that "halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds."
