The bold prediction was made by Bill Barhydt, founder and CEO of crypto wealth platform Abra. Speaking on The Street's Roundtable , Barhydt described Abra's new “synthetic yield-bearing dollar,” a Solana -based asset designed to mimic the value of the U.S. dollar while offering decentralized yield to holders. Related: Does Solana need its own Michael Saylor and Strategy? Unlike conventional stablecoins that rely on centralized banking partners to store reserves, Barhydt said this system doesn't need one. This removes a major point of regulatory and operational vulnerability. “If you're pegging the value of Solana to the dollar, no one can shut it down,” he explained. “You're not dependent on banks or governments.” Barhydt clarified that the product isn't a stablecoin “by the GENIUS Act definition."
