“The BoJ's expectation that ‘accommodative financial conditions will be maintained' even as monetary policy is adjusted looks likely to provide some reassurance for the stock market in our view,” said Analyst Katsuhiko Aiba. If the BoJ keeps zero interest rates for now, negative real-term rates will continue, and this could be positive for the Japanese economy and its asset prices, analysts said. In addition, bank stocks have been rising due to the expectations of a central bank policy change, “and are now at a level that prices in the lifting of NIRP (negative interest rate policy) and YCC (yield curve control), we accordingly see them peaking near-term.” Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.
