ERGO Group, a subsidiary of Munich Re, concluded the acquisition of the US-based property and casualty (P&C) insurer in July 2025. The process began in March 2025 when ERGO Group signed an agreement to acquire NEXT Insurance, valuing the US-based insurer at $2.6bn. NEXT Insurance, established in 2016, specialises in digital insurance solutions tailored for small business owners in the US. With the rebranding, ERGO NEXT brings together technology from its operations with the financial resources of ERGO and Munich Re. The organisation will continue to focus on providing insurance for small businesses across the US, maintaining its digital-first approach to coverage and service delivery.
