Trump gave his first State of the Union address of his second administration late on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Early in the nearly two-hour speech, Trump spoke about gasoline prices being lower in the United States over the past year than during former President Joe Biden's administration. Trump marveled over how cheap gas has gotten, recalling a trip he made to Iowa last month at the Horizon Events Center in Clive as an example of how low they've fallen. Here's what Trump said about Iowa's gas prices during the State of the Union. What did Trump say about gas prices in Iowa during his State of the Union? "Gasoline, which reached a peak of over $6 a gallon in some states under my predecessor — it was quite honestly a disaster — is now below $2.30 a gallon in most states.
