OMU officials also reported positive news about the utility's residential and commercial internet services, which are making a profit from customers connecting to the system. The utility is in the middle of its fiscal year. Letina Warren, senior financial and budgeting accountant, said OMU's net revenue this year from the consolidated electric service is $10.3 million, before OMU makes its dividend payment to City Hall. The budgeted revenue for the first six months of the fiscal year was $8.396 million. OMU documents say contributing factors include strong revenue from power income, income from the residential and commercial internet system and interest income. The utility's net income for the electric system is up $1.907 million above budget, or 22.7%. Electric system expenses are below budget for the fiscal year.
