The takeover received clearance from Australia's competition regulator in August , and it won clearance last week from Japan's Fair Trade Commission. The deal still awaits a vote from Newcrest shareholders scheduled for October 13, as well as approval from regulators in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea; Newmont ( NEM ) expects to close the transaction sometime during Q4. If the takeover goes through, Newcrest ( OTCPK:NCMGF OTCPK:NCMGY ) shareholders would receive 0.4 Newmont ( NEM ) share for each share, with an implied value of A$29.27/share. Recommended For You
