The contract was awarded by engineering company Bechtel Energy. Earlier this month, NextDecade announced the final investment decision (FID) for Train 4 of the Rio Grande LNG project. The contract for Train 4 encompasses two Frame 7 gas turbines and six centrifugal compressors, replicating the solutions used in the first three liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains. These solutions offer energy efficiency and reduce emissions, contributing to an additional LNG capacity of roughly six million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and promoting sustainable energy development, stated Baker Hughes. Bechtel LNG Business general manager Bhupesh Thakkar said: "Our selection of Baker Hughes again for the Rio Grande LNG project is a testament to its reliable technology and expertise. "Their equipment has consistently supported the successful development of this critical infrastructure, and we look forward to their continued contribution to the project expansion."
