UK Data Center Planning Hits Record High Amid Scramble For AI Infrastructure Via City AM, Data centre planning applications in England and Wales jumped 63% in 2025, driven largely by AI-related demand and investor enthusiasm. Developers are increasingly targeting unconventional sites, from abandoned hotels to former coal mines and landfills, to secure planning approval.
