ING analysts believe Federal Reserve policy is the key rally driver , with rising hopes for U.S. rate cuts, adding that investors will be paying close attention to U.S. consumer price inflation data and Fed meeting minutes on Wednesday as a result. "Technical buying momentum will continue in the gold market unless the CPI data comes out much hotter than expected," Blue Fine Futures strategist Philip Streible says, adding a cooler inflation report could take prices to $2,400/oz Last week's stronger than forecast U.S. labor market report should have dented Fed rate cut hopes, but the gold rally has continued, suggesting that market participants are using setbacks on the gold market primarily as entry opportunities, according to Commerzbank analysts.
