The Finnish manufacturer of antennas and other cell phone network technology is exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Wolf von Dewitz/dpa Finland's Nokia reported a first-quarter net profit on Thursday, driven by higher sales and strong demand in its AI and cloud businesses. Net income totaled €87 million ($101.8 million), or €0.02 per share, compared with a net loss of €60 million, or €0.01 per share, in the year-ago period. Comparable earnings rose to €295 million, or €0.05 per share, from €153 million, or €0.03 per share, supported in part by a net positive impact from financial income and expenses, including valuation gains in venture investments and foreign exchange movements. Operating profit at the telecoms, IT and consumer electronics firm came in at €62 million, versus a loss of €21 million a year earlier.
