The company continues to return substantial amounts of capital to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases. Near-term results will be impacted by lower offshore drilling activity, cost inflation, and particularly the fallout from the war in the Middle East. However, a timely resolution of the conflict should benefit NOV quite meaningfully due to the requirement to restore millions of barrels of lost oil production on a daily basis. With industry valuations up across the board, I am raising my price target for NOV's shares from $14.35 to $22.50.
