Higher catch-up contribution limits If you're over the age of 50, you can make a "catch-up" contribution on top of your maximum annual contributions to your retirement accounts every year. If you're between the ages of 60 and 63, you can even make higher "super catch-up" contributions. Some of those limits, which are geared toward helping older people save more money before they retire, were raised for the most common types of retirement plans in 2025 and 2026.
