Nissan has discontinued the Versa subcompact sedan, its most affordable vehicle, the company confirmed to The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network. “In line with Nissan's product strategy, the Nissan Versa ended production in December 2025 for the U.S. market,” according to a company statement obtained by The Tennessean. The Nissan Versa S — the model's base tier — was offered at $17,390 Manufacturers Suggest Retail Price (MSRP). Scrapping the subcompact sedan marks the end of new U.S. vehicles with a list price below $20,000, according to Kelly Blue Book. Now, the Hyundai Venue takes-over as the cheapest new vehicle on the market, with a $20,550 MSRP. Between Oct. 25 and Dec. 25, Nissan sold 9,847 Versa models across the U.S., a 25.9% decline compared to the same time a year before, according to the company's yearly sales report.
