intelligence startup was notified that it was designated a "supply chain risk for national security" by the US government. In a blog post , Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei vowed to fight the action, which is usually reserved for foreign adversaries, writing that Anthropic has "no choice but to challenge it in court." In the post, Amodei also said he resumed negotiations with the Defense Department to put a military contract back on the table. OpenAI ( OPAI.PVT ) reached a deal with the government last week, which elicited pushback from employees and users. Anthropic and OpenAI were also in focus after Nvidia ( NVDA ) CEO Jensen Huang's suggestion that the chipmaker's multibillion-dollar investments in the startups could be the last of their kind for a while. Nvidia has also reportedly halted production of China-bound H200 chips, the Financial Times reported, as regulatory efforts in Washington and Beijing have restricted imports to the Chinese market.
