Novo has a new weapon in its obesity portfolio with the once-daily Wegovy tablet, which is the first oral GLP-1 medication approved in the U.S. for weight loss. This comes at a time when competition is heating up and prices are going up. This pill is different from the injections that have been the most common in the GLP-1 area because it wants to make it easier for millions of people to use the medicine. Dave Moore, executive vice president of U.S. operations at Novo Nordisk, said The question now isn't just whether this new format works. It's also about whether it can make things easier for more people, protect Novo's market share , and keep the company ahead of Eli Lilly's upcoming competitor.
