The Danish drugmaker cut prices for the two highest dosages of Wegovy to 987.48 yuan ($141) and 1,284.36 yuan respectively, as reported by Yicai on Monday. The information was cited from drug-procurement documents for the southwestern Chinese provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan. Novo Nordisk reportedly stated that the price reduction would "further reduce the burden for patients and improve treatment adherence," according to Yicai. The company has also lowered prices on the online marketplace operated by Chinese e-commerce company JD.com. Patients throughout China can order the medication on web platforms after completing an online doctor consultation.
