The filing was unusual from the start: by ATP's own account, the fund held between $1 billion and $10 billion in assets against liabilities described in court documents as less than $500,000. ATP said the Chapter 11 was necessary to protect funding for portfolio companies developing treatments for cancer, neurological disorders, and infectious disease.
