The video, recorded by Hannah Ford, shows what appears to be a sharp boundary between dry pavement and heavy rain moving down a street. “This is really weird,” she said. “It is rain. It's coming like that?” She appeared confused as the wall of rain moved closer, then stepped into it moments later as the downpour reached her. Ford told Storyful she initially thought a fire hydrant might have burst after spotting what looked like water pooling in the roadway. “I was confused and wondered if a fire hydrant had busted down there, but then I realized it was a wall of rain approaching me,” Ford said. “The line of rain moved closer and closer until I was drenched.” In the footage, she calls it “the weirdest rain I've ever seen in my life,” adding that the scene felt “like sci-fi” as the edge of the storm advanced toward her.
