Doorbell footage captured what appears to be a delivery driver stealing a cat from outside a woman's home in California. The incident occurred at Diane Huff-Medina's home in Lakewood, about 21 miles from Los Angeles, on Dec. 11, according to Storyful and local news station KTLA The video shows the worker delivering a package before noticing Huff-Medina's cat, named Piper. The man, described as an independent contractor delivering Amazon packages, can be seen petting the cat before grabbing it and walking off the lawn. Huff-Medina said she has notified authorities and Amazon about the matter, the outlets reported. “It's a helpless feeling because we watched her get taken, so I don't know where she is or if she's OK,” Huff-Medina told KTLA. 'Piper is still missing,' cat's owner says Amazon was made aware of the incident, calling it "a horrible act," per a statement obtained by USA TODAY.
