The retailer saw revenue jump 18.0% year-over-year to $648.9M for the holiday quarter. Comparable sales rose 3.9% to top the consensus estimate of +3.4%. Ollie's ( OLLI ) noted that it opened 7 new stores in the quarter to end the year with a total store count of 512. Gross margin increased 290 basis points to 40.5% of sales during the quarter. The margin increase was primarily due to favorable supply chain costs and slightly higher merchandise margin primarily related to lower shrink. Adjusted EBITDA increased 43.2% year-over-year to $110.6M. EPS was $1.23 vs. $1.16 consensus and $0.85 a year ago. Ollie's ( OLLI ) inventory position at the end of the quarter was up 7.5% year-over-year to $505.8M, driven by new store growth, partially offset by the impact of lower capitalized freight costs.
