Ollie's Bargain Outlet is continuing its rapid expansion in Wisconsin with a new store set to open March 25 in La Crosse, adding to a dozen other stores in the state. The newest Ollie's in La Crosse replaces a former Big Lots, continuing a trend of Ollie's locations taking the place of shuttered big box outlets and furniture stores. La Crosse's Big Lots was one of many caught in the chain's bankruptcy crosshairs in September 2024. Since a private equity deal fell through for Big Lots, Ollie's scooped up more than 60 former Big Lots locations across the country. The last two Ollie's locations opened in Milwaukee and Grafton took over a former Twins Furniture depot and a Pick ‘n Save, respectively. Ollie's Bargain Outlet opened in Manitowoc on May 7, 2025.
