The S&P 500 ( ^GSPC ) gained roughly 0.4%, while the Nasdaq Composite ( ^IXIC ) moved up 0.3%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ( ^DJI ) was 0.1% higher, with stocks broadly upbeat after a mixed session on Thursday.
