The firm noted that ORI is a reasonably priced property and casualty insurance company with a title business, which offers it room for much stronger earnings, depending on the recovery of the housing market. Earlier in October, Old Republic International Corporation (NYSE:ORI) announced that it had executed a definitive agreement to acquire Everett Cash Mutual Insurance Co. and affiliated companies. The deal will take place after ECM converts to a stock company through a sponsored demutualization. The leading insurer of small farmowners, ECM operates in 48 states and wrote $237 million of direct written premiums in 2024. The company also boasts a record of growth and profitability.
