Summary With the sell-off in yield-related names, 2018 has been a good time to go shopping for Dividend Aristocrat stocks. The ProShares S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats ETF ( NOBL ) has badly underperformed the S&P 500 for almost two years now, earning just half the gains that the market as a whole has delivered over that stretch: NOBL data by YCharts The reasons for the Dividend Aristocrats' underperformance have been well explained by now. Rising interest rates and sector rotation into more exciting growth and tech names have given investors ample reasons to cash in their blue chip bond alternative style holdings. That doesn't necessarily mean that all the Dividend Aristocrats are attractive at today's prices. While I own quite a few of them and have been adding to positions in the most appealing - such as Hormel ( HRL ) and McCormick ( MKC ) this year, others offer much less for investors today.
