December futures on the S&P/TSX index gained 0.20% ?as of as of 05:40 a.m. ET. Canadian benchmark S&P/TSX composite index rose 0.31% on Tuesday, lifted by gains in heavyweight energy, industrials and financial sectors and ?by relief over a ?possible end of the federal shutdown. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives could soon vote to ?end the government shutdown that paused crucial financial data that give clues on the health of the world's largest economy. ADP's Tuesday update ?on preliminary payroll figures showed continued weakness in the labor market,? with private employers shedding an average of 11,250 jobs weekly. Traders are increasing bets on further easing from the Federal Reserve. Fed funds futures are pricing an implied 67%probability of a 25-basis-point cut at the U.S. central ?bank's next meeting on December 10,? compared with a 62% ?chance a day earlier, according to the CME Group's FedWatch tool.
