Occidental Petroleum Is My Favorite Permian Basin Stock Summary Amid weakness in oil prices, a number of Permian Basin operators have tapered down their growth plans, but Occidental Petroleum hasn’t made any major changes. Occidental Petroleum will increase its Permian Basin shale production from 250,000 boepd in 4Q18 to more than 600,000 boepd within five years.
