company, announced the official commencement of its $100 million Injective (INJ) digital asset treasury (DAT) strategy on Oct. 7. A DAT company refers to a public firm that holds a significant quantity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin , Ethereum, etc. on its balance sheet — similar to how public firms traditionally hold cash or commodities. Pineapple announced acquiring 678,353 INJ tokens worth approximately $8.9 million in its first phase of token purchase. The fintech firm plans to become the world's largest holder and staker of INJ. The expected yield is approximately 2 times higher than Ethereum and about 1.8 times higher than Solana staking rates, the statement added.
