the Brazilian chemical company, leaving Abu Dhabi's state-owned oil company Adnoc alone in the talks. Petrobras ( PBR ) and Adnoc are seeking to take control of Braskem ( BAK ) and run it as a joint venture, according to the report The governments of Brazil and Abu Dhabi are in talks over the possible deal, and Adnoc's position as a state-controlled entity is seen as an advantage by the administration of Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Valor Economico said. Adnoc wants to buy the 38% stake in Braskem ( BAK ) currently held by Novonor, while Petrobras ( PBR ) would increase its current 36% stake, with each company eventually holding a stake close to 50%, according to the report.
