Puma Shares Plunge, Bulls Flee as Cancer Patients Stop Drug (Bloomberg) -- Shar of Puma Biotechnology Inc. sank as much as perct Friday -- on pace for their lowt close in more than six years -- after first quarter earnings revealed that more patits than expected were discontinuing treatmt with its breast cancer drug. Puma’s only drug -- Nerlynx -- has long be linked to severe diarrhea and the company has be issuing vouchers to help patits buy anti-diarrheal medicin as well as educating doctors on easing the unpleasant side-effect. Those efforts wer’t ough to stave off the number of patits discontinuing treatmt, and first quarter sal of Nerlynx missed ev analysts’ lowt expectations.
