PCQ offers bonds originating in California, exempt from Californian state taxes. However, the yield premium offered by new bonds in this jurisdiction is less than the AAA-rated benchmark. The fund's premium remains one of the largest in the PIMCO universe, yet its UNII figures continue to show the distribution stream will come under pressure in the short term.
