PureCycle and Plastic Ingenuity partner to develop sustainable coffee lids [Yahoo! Finance]

Under the partnership, Plastic Ingenuity is using PureCycle's PureFive recycled polypropylene to make coffee lids, containing 25% to 100% recycled content. The project centres on supplying recycled-content packaging for the food service sector. Coffee lids were identified as a high-volume product where the use of virgin plastic can be reduced. Plastic Ingenuity sustainability and innovation director Zach Muscato said: “Plastic Ingenuity has always focused on helping our customers navigate the evolving demands of sustainable packaging. “Integrating PureFive resin into our coffee lid platform allows us to deliver a recycled solution that maintains the quality, consistency, and performance our customers expect. This is a meaningful step forward in supporting our partners' sustainability goals without compromise.” PureFive resin is made through PureCycle's dissolution recycling process.
