PepsiCo ( PEP Financials ) is making its supply chain more resilient by getting approximately 95% of its ingredients from local sources and using more hedging measures to deal with geopolitical and cost constraints.Anne Tse, CEO of Asia Pacific, noted that the business is aggressively hedging essential commodities to protect itself from price changes. PepsiCo also works closely with local farmers, especially for commodities like potatoes. This helps stabilize supply from upstream sources and makes the company less dependent on global trade flows.The strategy comes at a time when corporations are becoming more unsure because of geopolitical concerns and changing input costs.
