AZN stock edged up a fraction, near 51.20, in morning trading on the stock market today . During the first quarter ended March 31, core earnings of $1.05 per share increased 17%. That beat views for 93 cents, according to Bloomberg. Sales grew 16% on a strict as-reported basis to $6.35 billion. Analysts polled by Zacks Investment Research expected $5.81 billion in sales. In constant currency, AstraZeneca earnings popped 21% and sales rose 17%, another aid to AZN stock. Importantly, AstraZeneca retained its full-year outlook for sales to grow by a high single-digit to low double-digit percentage.
