President Trump said he endorses a Senate Republican plan to give Americans up to $1,500 to cover health expenses rather than extend ACA subsidies. WASHINGTON ? Facing pressure to address affordability concerns, President called on Congress to pass a series of measures aimed at lowering drug prices and health insurance costs as he unveiled a that is sparse on details. Trump on Jan. 15 released what he called the "Great Health Care Plan," a policy framework that includes urging Congress to codify several initiatives he's already pursued through executive action such as a "most favored nation" policy to lower drug prices. Trump is not asking Congress to replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, which Trump and Republicans have vowed for years to eliminate.
