Related news Pfizer stock reversed a four-day winning spree Tuesday, though the Dow Jones pharmaceutical giant reported better-than-expected first-quarter earnings and kept its 2020 outlook. For the first quarter ended March 29, the pharma giant earned 80 cents per share on $12.03 billion in sales. Both measures topped expectations for adjusted profit of 73 cents per share and $11.81 billion in sales, Mizuho Securities analyst Vamil Divan said in a report to clients. However, on a year-over-year basis, Pfizer earnings slipped 5% and sales fell 8%. Divan is bullish on Pfizer stock, however. He maintained his buy rating and 42 price target, and noted the first quarter benefited from a 1% bump in sales due to the coronavirus pandemic . He credited revenue from pneumonia vaccine Prevnar 13 and sterile injectables for the boost. In morning trading on the stock market today , Pfizer stock slid 1.4%, near 37.80.
