10:40am: Producer prices spike US producer prices climbed more than expected in February, underscoring persistent inflation pressures at the wholesale level. The Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 3.4% year-on-year, above analysts' estimate of 3%, while the monthly gain was 0.7%, nearly double the expected 0.3%. Core PPI, which excludes volatile food and energy costs, also outpaced forecasts. Core prices increased 3.9% from a year earlier, versus an expected 3.7%, and jumped 0.5% on the month, above the 0.3% estimate.
