Procter & Gamble Co. shares rose 1.7% in Friday premarket trading after the consumer goods company reported fiscal third-quarter earnings that beat expectations. Net income totaled $2.92 billion, or $1.12 per share, up from $2.75 billion, or $1.04 per share, last year. Adjusted EPS of $1.17 was ahead of the FactSet consensus for $1.12. Sales of $17.21 billion were up from $16.46 billion last year but below the FactSet outlook for $17.30 billion. P&G says shipment volume on merchandise was boosted by strong consumer demand in North America and certain European markets due to the Covid-19 outbreak, but disrupted in Asian markets for the same reason. The fiscal year 2020 sales outlook has been lowered to a range of 3% to 4% growth from a range of 4% to 5% growth due to foreign exchange pressure. P&G still expects sales growth in the range of 4% to 5%. The FactSet consensus is for sales of $70.35 billion, implying 3.9% growth. The company continues to forecast EPS growth of 235% to 245%,
