The startup is offering a discount to investors in the round, according to multiple sources. The fertility company was reportedly burning through cash last year. Kindbody's fundraising push is getting complex as the fertility unicorn dangles discounts to potential investors to secure new cash, Business Insider has learned. Last year, the startup set out to raise $50 million at a $1.8 billion valuation, the same valuation it achieved in its March 2023 financing round, Bloomberg first reported. Now, Kindbody has been forced to broaden its investor outreach and has pitched multiple early-stage VCs, according to two people with knowledge of the effort. The company's new aim is to raise about $30 million, with tweaks to the structure of the deal so investors get a discount, according to two people.
