Shares of Anaplan In fiscal Q4, Anaplan’s total revenue rose 42% to $98.2 million, topping the consensus estimate by $1 million. Subscription revenue of $89.5 million was up 50%. Billings of $126.4 million rose 25% (a deceleration from growth of 59% in FQ3 and 46% in FQ2), coming in below the consensus of $138 million. The company blamed the billings miss on leadership changes made in the Americas region during the quarter that caused delays in closing some large deals with new customers. Also, the departure of chief growth officer Mark Anderson after a short stint at the company resulted in some disruption. Anaplan’s deal sizes are getting larger (the average size of a new deal rose 24% in FY’20), so transactions are getting more complex, with an increased number requiring more leadership involvement.
